Health
The nursery and the kindergarten nurse: in order to prevent children from turning up ill, the kindergarten nurse consults the children from every group. If the child gives visible signs of illness he/she is not allowed to enter the community.
• Children between 1 and 4 years old will be consulted daily by the nurse.
• Children between 4 and 6 years will be consulted by the nurse 3 times a week.
• Twice a year, the children are consulted in order to discover sight and static disorders; other health problems will be diagnosed by the family doctor of each child.
Organization: children between 1 and 3 years old eat, sleep and go out in the yard separately from the ones between 3 and 5 years old.
Snack (10 o’clock break): at the nursery and kindergarten the parents are not allowed to give the children sweets, drinks, chips or any other food that is considered junk food.
Lunch: the menu is made by the kindergarten’s medical personnel in order to be fit for the nutritional needs of every age group. Lunch has to cover 50% from the daily calories requirement. The medical team establishes the calorie value of each meal. The menu is different each week.
Sheets: we provide the sheets for bedding. They are washed/sanitized every week.
The fruit or vegetable salad: each Friday the children prepare a salad. In this way the learn how to eat healthy.
Physical education: in the weekly program are included physical education classes.
Outdoor games: the outdoor games and activities are an important part of the daily program. Each day, regardless of the season, the children go out in the yard at least 30 minutes from their short program.
Safety
All efforts to ensure your child’s safety during their time at Happy Kids are made. At the nursery and kindergarten, the children are constantly supervised. In case of an incident, the children will receive the first aid and then will be sent to the hospital. If there is ever any concern or question about your child’s safety, please tell us.
Organization: the classrooms, the play ground and the other facilities are specially designed to avert most kinds of accidents.
The children’s departure from the nursery/kindergarten: for safety reasons, the group teacher has to know when and with whom the child left from the kindergarten at the end of the program. The children can be picked up from the kindergarten only by the persons that are authorized according to the enrollment file. In case your child needs to be picked up from the kindergarten by another person, the teacher will allow this only if the parent has sent a written and signed note, or if the parent has called in advance to let the teacher know about the changes that have occurred.
The access in the building: is made by using an interphone.
Computer use: the children have rules for using the computer.
